Community politics has always been about empowerment for local communities. The Lib Dems in government have fought to enable greater empowerment through the localism bill.
At the same time however the government is having to make incredibly difficult decisions in a time of economic crises that often meets opposition from local communities. Where should the community activist stand when local priorities conflict with national ones?
We are delighted that Gordon Lishman - co-author of the highly acclaimed "Theory and Practice of Community Politics" will be our guest speaker.
