Civil Liberties and the Coalition with John Kampfner in Camden
(Monday, November 26, 2012)

Meeting type:Organisational meeting
Date:Monday, November 26, 2012
Time:7.30pm - 9.30pm
Description:

Come and join us for the Holborn and St. Pancras Branch Annual General Meeting.

Our special guest speaker this year will be John Kampfner, who will give a talk on Civil Liberties and the Coalition.

A former editor of the New Statesman and former Chief Executive of the Index on Censorship, John now advises Google on free expression and culture issues for Europe, Middle East and Africa and his latest book Freedom For Sale: How We Made Money and Lost Our Liberty was a finalist for the 2010 Orwell Prize.

John will be joining us to discuss 'Civil Liberties and the Coalition' exploring what has been achieved and what more needs to be done. With proposals for secret courts and a snooper’s charter on the horizon, this will be a crucial discussion for Lib Dems to attend.

To help us with numbers and catering, please can you RSVP (see details below)

Alongside this, members will be voting on whether or not to create a new branch of the Camden Local Party to represent all wards in the Holborn and St. Pancras constituency and if so will elect Officers and a Committee.
