Meeting details
Chelmsford discussion on future for the EU if Lisbon treaty falls
(Saturday, November 8, 2008)
Meeting type: | Public Meeting |
Date: | Saturday, November 8, 2008 |
Time: | 4.00pm - 6.00pm |
How can the European Union (EU) help resolve the economic crisis; and what does the future hold for the EU if the Lisbon Treaty is not approved?
Bill Rammell MP (in his capacity as former vice chair of the European Movement) will be leading the discussion. The meeting is organised by the Essex branch of the European Movement, a group that campaigns for Britain taking a strong role in the European Union.
Reflecting the cross-party nature of the organisation, Chelmsford Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Stephen Robinson and a local Conservative will also be taking part in the discussions.
Said Branch Chair David Cronyn, "I hope that anyone interested in finding out more about the EU will come along to our meeting. With the European elections coming up next year, this is a good time to be holding such a meeting."
Light refreshments and chat after the meeting.
