Liberal Drinks: Bexleyheath
(Saturday, June 28, 2008)

Meeting type:Social event
Date:Saturday, June 28, 2008
Time:5.00pm - 11.00pm
Description:

A shameless opportunity to exploit Liberal Drinks for a by-election.

First the pub: The Robin Hood and Little John wins the Bexley CAMRA pub of the year EVERY year. And has won the CAMRA London Pub of the Year 3 times in the last 8 years. http://www.camrabexleybranch.org.uk/poty.html

Next the by-election. On 1 May the BNP beat the Lib Dems in Bexley Borough. More votes for Boris Johnson came from Bexley and Bromley than any part of London, by huge amounts!

Boris immediatley appointed the Bexley Council Leader as one of his paid deputy mayors. The resulting by-election is an opportunity for us to leapfrog Labour, and importantly to crush the BNP!

This is the final Saturday of the by-election, so hopefully people will come and help the campaign, then head off to the pub for Liberal Drinks. It will be two days after Henley, so a chance to walk off, and drink off, the Henley hangover! The pub is in the by-election ward!

Details of the by-election HQ are at http://www.flocktogether.org.uk/showMeetingPage.php?Meeting=3648

You say "First, the pub", but shouldn't it really be "First the delivery; then the pub"?
