Three seats fell vacant when Adam Carew (lately PPC) lost a secret ballot for Leader of the LD council group and instantly resigned in a huff, and two of his friends followed. He and they then defected to the Tories. He took with him his District and County seats. His two friends are standing in the by-election as Tories.
We must recapture the 4 WTC seats for the Lib Dems, as a springboard to taking back the DC and CC seats he still holds and will not vacate as he relies on the income. Also, UKIP is trying to establish a presence.
The fourth vacancy had previously arisen when another Lib Dem resigned her seat for other reasons.
