The Brent East By-election 5th Anniversary Dinner
(Thursday, September 18, 2008)
Meeting type: | Social event |
Date: | Thursday, September 18, 2008 |
Time: | 7.00pm - 10.30pm |
On 18th September 2003, Sarah Teather swept to victory in a by-election that changed the face of politics in North West London, and whose ripples spread far across the body politic.
Five years later, Sarah still holds the seat, Liberal Democrats lead a joint administration running Brent Council, and activists and councillors alike are working flat out to get Sarah elected in the new seat of Brent Central, whilst simultaneously supporting Ed Fordham's campaign to win the cross-borough seat of Hampstead & Kilburn.
We still know how to throw a good party though, and you are more than welcome to join us for a buffet dinner and drinks, plus a by-election quiz, raffle, dancing and entertainment, with Vince Cable joining us to demonstrate just why he is one of the country's foremost political figures.
Tickets cost £28 each, remarkably good value given the entertainment on offer.
