Helping the Lib Dems win Sheffield (Part One)
(Saturday, March 1, 2008)

Meeting type:Campaigning session
Date:Saturday, March 1, 2008
Time:10.30am - 5.30pm
Description:

CONTROL of Sheffield City Council is on a knife-edge, with only TWO seats separating the Lib Dems and Gordon Brown's New Labour.

Labour are determined do keep hold of Sheffield and are pouring in money for glossy, personalised leaflets posted to every door.

Labour's first order of business is to defeat popular local Lib Dem Councillor Diane Leek. Diane is one of the most hardworking and talented members of our group - so this is a seat we MUST win.

Please help us to help Diane by doing some delivering or canvassing this weekend. Our local action days start at 10.30 am, at 4 Manvers Road, Walkley, both Saturday AND Sunday. Training will be available to anyone who's not helped out before.

So if you care about:

* Giving power back to local communities
* Cuttting Labour's waste and bureaucracy in our Town Hall
* The environment
* The state of our roads
* The state of our schools

and above all

* A Council that listens to local people

PLEASE come and help us this weekend - you CAN change the future of our city.

(Please note that this is the first of TWO Flock Together events for this action weekend - the second is here: http://www.flocktogether.org.uk/showMeetingPage.php?Meeting=3379)
