Hi Alice.

I don't need a lift, but if you add your postcode (or the first half of it) to your preferences or click on the map on the front page to set your location, then the distance you would need to divert to give someone a lift will be automatically calculated.

Best wishes,

Mike,

Currently not. What I intend to do is allow the contact for any meeting to edit it, along with the person who entered it obviously.

What I could do is allow party members to edit any record... or is that too brave? :-)

I had forgotten about this post, until I did a search for my own name in a certain search engine out of curiousity. I apologise for not getting back sooner.

I'm surprised that what I thought is a closed forum, is actually publically viewable & categorised for all to see. Therefore it seems the only purpose of logging in is to safeguard against spamming, rather than protecting the privacy of the contents of what we post.

Whilst I agree we should be as open as possible in informing people about meetings & that we shouldn't be exclusive, I also believe that anything of strategic campaign significance really shouldn't be posted on here as it is not secure and until something can be done to prevent it being catalogued by search engines, given it potentially leaks information to our opponents on a tactical level.

The announcement inside the building is not. But I believe it is likely that there will be a speech made by the winner outside either the LGA or Cowley Street shortly afterwards. And the campaign teams will probably all be there as a precursor to going off to celebrate or drown their sorrows.

What do you think of including events like this evening's Question Time?

For TV events, it probably makes sense not to set a location (unless there is some way of getting tickets).

Surely we all know when it's on.

I thought this was offering tickets.

Most frustrating...

Alan,

You normally need a ticket to PMQs. This was more for information and to let people know when it is on TV.

Not sure whether to continue this once the leadership campaign is over... what do you think?

Is this actually inside the public viewing gallery of the Commons for PMQs? Or is it something else afterwards, or simply telling people to watch it on TV? Don't you have to book before attending? I've received this information late. Can ordinary members of the public simply turn up on the door? Is identification required? First come first served operation? How early should people arrive?

I apologise for all the questions, I'm confused. If it is a genuine meet, I'd advise posting this sort of thing earlier, unless the emails generated have gone out a bit late in which case, I'm sorry for having a go.

The timing of the votes indicate that Ming will not be able to get away in time for this meeting. We will still get together, and Neil Sherlock, a key member of Ming's policy team will speak and take questions, together with Sue Doughty and Chris Ward, Chair of Surrey University Lib Dem Society.

Due to the lateness of the news our apologies to those who have been inconvenienced. We are hoping to fix an alternate date once the business of the House is known for the next two weeks!
