Senior Judge Denzil Anton Lush has recently retired from the Bench after a highly distinguished career, and is a recognised authority on the subject of mental incapacity and the law. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1978. He was appointed a part-time Chairman of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal in 1994, Master of the Court of Protection in 1996 and Senior Judge of the Court of Protection in 2007 (when new mental capacity legislation came into effect).
