Sunday, June 26th, 2016

Just to let you know that I’ve updated all the postcodes and wards at api.flocktogether.org.uk to the latest versions.

It’s a quick and easy way to:

Let me know if you spot any problems.

FlockTogether adds wards etc. to the party’s Salesforce membership reports

Sunday, September 28th, 2014

Just to let you know that the Flock Together API now lets you quickly and easily add wards and other geographical data to the party’s Salesforce membership reports.

You can do the upload at http://api.flocktogether.org.uk/addareatodata.php.

Old contact details no longer display

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

Just to let you know that individual contact details for events now stop displaying 30 days after an event has happened.

The federal party has some campaign days coming up.

You can read more details on the ALDC website here.

New way to access Flock Together data

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Following a request, I’ve made the data in FlockTogether for upcoming events and by-elections available in json format.

You can access it at http://www.flocktogether.org.uk/showJson.php

No exciting tags or switches currently. Let me know if there’s any particular information you’d like.

Easier to register for events + some other stuff

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

I’ve updated Flock Together to make it easier and more reliable to register for events (mainly by shifting from the script.aculo.us javascript library to the jQuery library).

Just hit one of these radio buttons:

Flock Together now also pulls any by-elections that it doesn’t already have semi-automatically off the ALDC website.

It doesn’t show them all – just the ones with contact details – but it should help keep Flock Together more easily up to date.

Conference Fringe Events on Flock Together

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Just realised that we were missing a Conference Fringe category to Flock Together.

So I’ve added it.

Another step-forward for Flock Together

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

One reason why people don’t always share Flock Together a bit more is that it’s URLs can get a bit fugly.

So I’ve upgraded it.

From now on links like

Not earth-shattering, but it should make linking into the site much easier from leaflets or other websites!

Flock Together supports public transport

Monday, February 12th, 2007

Flock Together events pages now have a link showing you how to get to events anywhere in the country by public transport from your home postcode via the Transport Direct website.

Just look for the section called ‘Travel Details’.

You can have a go at working out your route to Harrogate via http://www.flocktogether.org.uk/showMeetingPage.php?Meeting=1108 or, indeed, almost any other meeting on the site.

Personalised feeds

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

I’ve added some more variables for Flock Together feeds…

The basic feed remains, as before:

http://www.flocktogether.org.uk/userrss.php?id=yourusername

Instead of your user name, it’s now possible to reference by membership number or postcode. For example:

?pc=RG14+1PJ&range=50

does the postcode and range (if you leave out range, it uses 50 miles). And:

&mn=1234567

does the Liberal Democrat membership number (although this only works for registered users of Flock Together who’ve entered their membership number when they registered).

For registered users who want to publish their feed, it may make sense only to show only meetings that they’ve ‘registered’ on Flock Together. To do this they can add the following onto their URL:

®isteredonly=yes

To sort the meetings in order of reverse appearance (i.e. the most ‘recent’ post will be the most immediate upcoming meeting), add:

&sortorder=meetingdate

If you want to show your feed on a Prater Raines site, then the best option is just to add the following to your URL:

&praterraines=yes

Finally, to set the publish date to the meeting date (which may break some feedreaders, since the publish date will be in the future), just add:

&scheduleddate=yes
